Was told this was a Labidochromis sp. (yellow top) Mbamba. It's a young fish. Is it female or a different fish all together?

a Labidochromis sounds reasonable.
can't tell which one, though. If your source is credible, I'd say it's correct

I'd say it is. It's a female so it won't get the bright colors.
