physically how can you tell it's a female?

how can you tell it's a female other then if it's already spawned. is there any physical attibutes that distinguish them?

She had her fry about a week ago that i have in a holding tank,she is smaller than the male ,who is bigger and has 4- egg spots that are outlined almost in black,where as the female egg spots are just plain,and the top fin appears to be more pointed,where as the females is more rounded,she had about 30 fry that are still alive and growing.

The female has an all yellow dorsal fin. The male will be gray in color where the dorsal fin is spiney
