there is also a blue crawfish in there but I may have to take him out once the peacocks get big enough to beat him up, I dunno if they would or not.

Great looking tank Justin. You did a great job. Your plants go to the top of the water, watch the crawfish very carefully, they like to climb and will climb out of the tank. My cousin had one that climbed out, and fell into a basket of laundry. While sorting the clothes a day or two later, she found him. Needless to say he didn't make it. She now has every hole in her lid blocked off so they can't climb out again. She paid $30 for him, an expensive lesson to learn.

looks great Justin, i have a red clawed crayfish, and he was smaller then my cichlids when i got him at first as well, it seems that african's the smaller variety 4"-5" won't touch them, but as soon as you go American then the lobster will become a snack. Make sure to put a strong glass lid ontop of your tank, they love to climb.

Bip and Justin, I also have a blue crawfish. He molted about 3 weeks ago, and only has one large claw. I'm not sure what happened to it. Will it grow back? I saw another blue crawfish with one claw at a pet store. Is this normal?

Nice setup Justin.....i like to anchor my plants in hollow decorations also...

I believe in less is more....too many aquarists try to shove as much junk in a tank as they can...

they crawfish is in there, I'll post a pic of him when I get home tonight. he comes out a little during the day but mostly at night. he does like to perch up on the wood sometimes.

ashley, I don't know what could have happened to it, I have seen them molt though. They do that about every month or so. It is possible something attacked him while his shell was soft after it molted.

I have two ghost shrimp that hang out in a tall plant. I have had them for a year!! how long do they live?? they are with some 1" hybrids in a 29 gal.. they don't mess with them any.. Neat to watch them catch food and eat..
