Your landlord seems like a bit of an ass.... did you do anything to piss him off? Sorry to hear youve been put in such a stupid position. The only way he could enforce that legally is if there is a no pets clause in your contract.

some owners are scared of the water mess it can do in case of leaking,breaking etc...i think its more of an insurance thing

Well i had the same problem last year. Are u in canada, if so, fish arent considered a pet, and unless stated no Fish tanks, then he would be breaking the lease. Look into that causeif he is breaking the lease, you will be able to live there for 3 months and not pay rent. I just went thorugh it.

Oh yeah in case he asks, Fish are a hobby, not a PET!!!!!! So u can do the hard way, tell him to shuv it!!! he will try to evict, bring sherrif and explain to him why your lanlord is breaking the lease. U will Win that argument i promise!!!!

Some apartment leases state maximum allowable aquarium sizes, or that they're only allowed on the first floor (and things like that).

...if those clauses weren't stated in your lease, maybe you can fight it.

hopefully my landlord doesn't read this ...LOL.... my lease states i can have a small pet .. wonder if i can have 120 small pets ?? LOL hmmm .... my rent has never increased in almost 7 years .. and the best part ... No water bill!!!!!!!!! ( 11 tanks)

I see where the landlord might be concerned if you are on an upper floor. But... If you already gave your 30 day notice, don't get rid of the tanks, he couldn't evict you quicker than the 30 days. Most places do not consider fish pets, as Chris said, it's a hobby. Hope it all works out for you.
