The Ick Tank: Update as of 10/20

I have been having fish drop left and right. They are not taking to any of the treatments I am giving them. Tried an Ick Remover for a week and a half, nothing. Tried the salts for about a week with higher temps. nothing. I am going back to melafix to see if it will work. .. Lost Royal Pleco, Orangefined Pleco, two serpae tetras ( they loved the balzani's) and one balzani... Seriously stressed and upset they keep dying....

stable.. royal and abn are fine, gymnos are all infected, but very active and eat regularly. I need to do a water change tonight and re-medicate.

have you raised the temp? keeping the lights closed helps also (malachite green works best in darkness)i think you already know all this..

Hmm, what about they type of heater your using? Might not be keeping the right temp?

the gymnos, two tetras, abn, royal, paraoto are all in here. There isn't any stress in the tank, and the heater is correct ( added a portible thermometer and it is still the same)

they still have ich, but it isnt as bad.

Did you raise the heat, and add the crap out of some salt. The gestation period is only 14 days.

I cannot raise the heat cause the temp is already close to 80 and from what I read balzani's do not live long at high temps. What do you mean by the gestation period is only 14 days?

of the ich, it hatches every 14 days, so you could just take out all the fish, and then quarantine them, or even a salt bath would work. I think the balzanis will do fine, but you have the raise the heat at least to 84, its worth the try, just take them out.

Tang from what I understand they will not live long lives at that temp. I don't think turning it up for a few days will kill them. I saw someone on another site talking about this same thing. At any rate I hope you don't lose any. Good luck.

Sounds like the new asian "super Ich", Get some Cupramin dose it as per the saltwater inst. on the bottle. It's the only stuff that works on this. I've dealt with it before, quick cure doesn't work on it nor will salt etc.
