This won't be just another "hole in the wall", I'm sure!! Good start, keep on posting the progress Frank!

That’s made my day. So glad you took the plunge and did this. The positioning is better than I expected and I’m sure it will look fabulous!!!

Thanks guys - got that little kid in a candy store feeling going - gonna clean this up tonight if I can. I will post more pics when I do. I'm a little worried about moisture behind the wall... I thought about mounting a little fan above the hood, to blow air away from the sheetrock. Any other suggestions?
harvick fan » posted 2008/04/15 - 14:38
is the sheetrock finished on the other side ? if not maybe pint with a sealer , shouldnt have to worry to much about moisture then . and how big is the room where the stand is ? i think if you use a fan your going to be creating more water evaporation from tank than anything else .

No, behind the wall is unfinished - the room behind is unfinished basement/workbench/laundry sink/etc. Its about 8 feet wide and 15 feet long - hard to explain without pics :) I may go on my lunch break and pick up some bathroom paint w/ mildew protection and just slap some on the wall back there.
