Goldfish are from Cold water so there will be no problem unless ur neighbors cat gets to them.

Ponds are one thing small tanks are another if it freezes solid the water expands and breaks the tank seals. What is there to do in Pittsburgh I am here working and my homes 900miles SW?

I've been out since I posted this pic...David, fortuneately the tanks are only $10 anf the goldfish are cheap too. Right now we Pittsburgers are tilling gardens (my asparegus is up), planting flowers and experimenting with fish on the deck :)

Jerry, the tank just gets dirty quick with no filters. Bill had 3 in one and it was tough.

i had about 15 foam boxes outside with goldfish breeding in them to feed to my old fish i didn't do any water changes or anything they lived fine with the rain and just water tops up if it didn't rain

Robert...I hadn't thought about breeding them...don't know male from female even...interesting though

Roger...easiest water change ever...just drain right through the deck and fill with a cold water hose...oh boy

soon as it gets a little warmer those guys will roast, especially if it's not shaded,10 gal is too small of a body of water for outdoor living, especially with no aireation.:)Good Luck though!

John, my deck is well shaded. When it gets warmer, I hope to add some airstones to help with the oxygen transfer...just got to run an electrical circuit to the deck.

Well they may do alright then till it gets cold again then you'll have to bring them in:)

John...definitely winter them inside. I'll be seting up a cold-water room in addition to my current Malawi room
