My first tank. Suggestions please
My first tank. Suggestions please
Hi Everyone, This is my first tank and I would like some advice from you experts please. It is a 45gal bowed glass aquarium. I have put a biowheel 350 in it and have set the heater to 79F. It has 40 lbs of aragonite for substrate. I also put in 4 plastic plants and several bulbs for live plants. I also stacked rocks for the fish to hide in. I'm hoping to put 3 yellow labs and 3 blue zebras to start and then 2 peacocks and a placo once the tank has cycled. I want to get the fish this weekend so if you think I need to do anything else please let me know so I can fix it before I get the fish. Thanks so much for looking and any advice you may have.

looks great michelle.. add your fish slowly so they tank has time to build the bacteria to cope with the food and waste.keep an eye on your ammonia .takes 6 weeks for a tank to be fully cycled with fish it.. you can add a product called "cycle" that is full of live bacteria and is a great way to get it started.look forward to seeing your fish ..

Very nice tank Michelle. You are really on the right track. Sounds like you have done your "homework" before just jumping right in. Make sure your rocks are stacked to be steady. The fish can/will knock them over by digging or swimming past them. Lots of luck with it all. Keep us posted on the progress/additions!!
