Very nice-how do they react to the air curtain/bubbler on the left side?

some of them like it...my male auratus was just going up and down near the bubbler...cute to watch them do that

My guys love to play in the bubbles. I have seen them try to catch individual bubbles before.

What's up Bip! Would u say it is worth putting one in my 55gl? I just have a small air stone in there now, back right corner. Also, any of you know where I can get a 75+ w/stand cheap? I live in Norfolk, va. I try craigslist all the time, but sometimes they want way too much. Thanks.

well i think it might be worth it becuase if you just have a small airstone, the tank might not be getting enough airation for your fish

Hi Jamie! I don't think I will take mine out, it adds another level of entertainment, for both me and the fish. So yeah, I guess it is worth it. Wish I could help on the tank search, but I am no where near VA to know where to send ya..... although I do have an idea... email me.... bip_4u@yahoo.com

What up BLooP-they are good, I just have a feeling that I may need to upgrade in size tanks. They are happy and have room, but maybe I have too much rockwork;check out my 55gl under my pics and let me know what u think. Thanks.

oh jamie im in the same boat...we both have the same size tank... but ur right we both need larger...i told roger my dreams of tanks i would like to have...2x55,1x75, and 1x of a 125 or 150. but idont have my own place yet nor do i have the room...but urs looks great...oh and i dont have an air stone or anything like that..i think it evaporates the water faster
*Christian* :o) » posted 2008/03/07 - 18:16
yea u might be rite bloop cuz my water gets low very fast...i need to invest in glass tops to prevent so much evaporation
bip_ 4u » posted 2008/03/07 - 18:18
But with reg water changes Bloob, evap doesn't become an issue. And either way evap will happen, lol.

hehehe oops not bloob... BlooP

this is why im not entirley a pro i dont do by weekly water changes...more of monthly changes...that might change when roger shows me a way to fill a tank w/ a pwr head..till then i have to dump kitchen cans of water into the tank...not very suttle for the fish..most of them fear me already. lol
Shawn Williams » posted 2008/03/07 - 18:37
Once a month? Ouch. I wouldn't go any more than two weeks without a water change. The tank definitely has improved.

its so much stress on my fish, they start crashin to the rocks, my borleyi ends up cuttin up his mouth and stuff, hes got s decent scar on it and the others, do simalar things. so untill i get a better system, its gonna have to stay monthly...besides i have plenty of filtration that gets cleaned routinely
Jerry Goebert » posted 2008/03/07 - 19:56
Bloop...Filtration does not remove the nitrates...only water changes do that. And I use 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot for my smaller tanks.

looks great .. i do weekly 1/3 changes with a ten litre bucket... syphon out with hose but put back with bucket.. my fish love it they get so excited but i pour it in slow bloop..
