65 gallon with home made stand...real hardwood for my back yard. i'm thinking about putting africians in it? any suggestions?

Steve i think tha should be ur personal decision what goes in there will go for a long time if well take care for so be careful with what u pick and make sure u do like it and wont be regretting in the future.

nice stand , suggestion ...if you put africans you might want a bit more rocks for more caves . otherwise looks good .

Fantastic looking stand. Suggestions...A background, you have some rocks already you could put in more. As far as fish, find ones you like and research them. Make sure they are compatable, see how big they get so you know how many you can put in the tank. There are numerous possibilities, that's the fun of having a tank, you get to be creative. As long as you are happy with it. Good luck.

Don't forget to add bacteria from your other tank to start the cycle. Some fish would need to be added also, to keep the bacteria alive.

Great stand steve. I'm actually in the middle of planning a birch one myself. Africans are a great addition to a 65 gallon for many reasons including size as a lot of africans don't get as big as americans. Do you have anything you would have done differently with that stand if you were to build it again? I'm kinda lookin for some helpful hints for when i build mine
