My Original Peacock Tank '06

Description

  • Category: Lake Malawi
  • Tank size: 72x22x20 inches = 137 gallons
  • Tank size: 182x55x50 cm = 518 liters

    125 gallon

Decoration

  • Gravel: Medium size-White/pinkish/slight purplish
  • Plants: African Swords

    Lava Rocks
    Easter Island Statue
    Large Mangrove Root
    Large Anchor

Technics

  • Light: (2)Ultra-Glow Flourecents
    Both high light spectrums(daylight type), but have not done well with my plants.(not enough intensity).....no more plants!!
  • Light-Duration: 10-15 hrs
  • Filtration: All Marineland filters:
    1-Hot Magnum outside hanging power filter
    2-Mag 350 Canister hooked up to...
    3-Dual BIO-WHEEL

    Normally only about 1 or 2 water changes a yr. Clean & filter gravel bed approx. 3-4 months. About same with filters.
    Lots of varied food: (pellets,minnows,frogs,rice,spagetti,ect.)

1 or 2 water changes per year! Wow. Clean looking tank. What are your nitrates typically at right before your annual/biannual water change?

Awesome.. I love it.. Crowding fish like these can be sometimes useful to stop aggression.
