Let the fun begins... They all seem to develop individual personalities so fast..

Phill, sounds like your male is displaying in front of a female. If she stops eating, you might have some baby fish soon!

ria, cheers, just had a look at her and can see little wite eggs in her mouth, noticed by the pouch bulging. looks like one of the other girls is expecting too,

Sorry, to disagree, but the spinning-around thing does not sound like "Mating".
It sounds like "Play" , unless you are describing a slow, cyclic process.
You will know when they are actually mating, because of the mouth-brooders' process.
Usually it consists of:
HE - does a cute side-shimmy/wiggle tail thing, whilst SHE kinda look like she is sniffing his bum.
The positions are then exactly reversed, and this can go on for a time (Round and around) until she is ready.
SHE will start to do her shimmy, but will drop eggs, whilst HE appears to watch and to guard them.
In a flash, she whips around and scoops the eggs up.
HE will then do his shimmy-thing whilst she sniffs his bum, again.
In reality, he is secreting semen, and she is drawing it over the eggs, to fertilise them.
THEY will keep repeating the process of Drop, Scoop, and fertilise, until she has no more eggs to lay.
After which time, she will go find a place for a good smoke and a rest for 21 days.
This is how I have seen it happen so very many times.
I hope that this is what the theory book says, or else my Cic's have rewritten the book.

PS - How big are your Labs. As they have generally small mouths, they are darn hard to strip. I feel that you could not likely strip a Lab of less than 3 to 4 Ins. I have tried at 2" and either FAILED or caused her to give up and eat the eggs. Not worth the risk to try stripping at less than 3". The other thing is - Are you ready for eggs? Do you have a tubbler for them to develop in. If not then you will likely lose anything that you do strip.
If you ever think of going into stripping, then you need to set up for it first. It is easy and you will simply need a small Filter/power-head and a water bottle and some hose, and more importantly, somewhere that you are prepared to set it up. So you either need extra tanks or be prepared for some ugly mechanical stuff in you tank.
AND then you will need tanks to grow them to a size where you can get rid of them. Trust me, it's full-time work.
Alternatively, you just let nature work, and help a little by providing LOTS of hiding places/shelter , where fry can live, eat and grow, without being eaten.
As for stripping - that's another story and there are different ideas there too.

I wouldn't strip the eggs. too much hassle looking after them.My yellow lab is about 2.5inch and stripping her of freeswimming fry was easy. I don't use any implements to open her mouth, they could cause damage.
Put some 'stress coat' on your hands.Catch your female, hold her gently with fingertips gently pressing on her jaw hinge. Then dip her mouth (mouth only not whole head) in water. This will make her gasp and open her mouth. Fry will then come out.
I like to wait until she releases them but sometimes help is necessarry!
Good luck!!!
