Protomelas spilonotus "Mbenji Isl." He's still young. That yellow on his forehead will increase into a nice "blaze" and he will get much more blue.

esox-this kind of looks like my Taiwan Reef Peacock; I notice the difference though in the yellowish colors and the lack of the red/purple colors on tail and head area. Nice fish!

Your Taiwan reef is in the same genus (Protomelas steveni) It's not actually a peacock (Aulonocara spp.) Good eye though picking that up :)

Would appear actually to be the same as ours.. we have a Jack Dempsey.. when theyre younger they may or not have stripes of color that disappear as they age.. but hes alomst ideaitical to ours.. good luck with him.. regardless of genuis.. hes a gorg fish

thanks for the help, but im pretty sure some one told me its name started with a m and i think it was 2 short names, probably its common name though if that helps at all.

@-esox 66, hes not that young cause hes 9 inches long

sorry, with an "M"

Google the name I gave... you'll see your fish. He doesn't have dominant color

esox-u sayin' mine's not a Peacock? Let me know so I can correct my titles; also, they don't have it listed in the species section for identifying our fish when we post. Thanks.

Sorry Roger, u were, I'm still learning the names/species/titles etc. I thought it was still a Peacock, but a Protomelas steveni (species name) Peacock. Thanks for the clarification.
