Mom spit them out...could be fertile or not...do you have a male also ? You could tumble them awhile to be sure

no i dont have a male....too bad i dont! im a little new at this, but i think that many "rookie fish keepers" would benefit from this question... How does the re-production process work for cichlids? how does the sperm reach the females eggs or is the process a lot different???

It depends on the type of cichlid. Some are mouthbrooders, they lay eggs, male fertilizes them, female picks them back up into her mouth and holds them there for about 3-4 weeks. There they 'hatch' and grow some before she lets them out of her mouth. When she releases them, they will be free swimmers and return to moms mouth when they feel threatened.
Then there are egg layers. The male and/or female will find a place (rock, a clay pot, etc), clean it out, she will lay the eggs and the male will fertilize them. They will take turns "fanning". In about 3 days the eggs should be 'wigglers', approx day 5 you should have free swimming fry.

I have had the pleasure of seeing many hundreds of these eggs.
As so many have heard so often, I strip all my mothers of their eggs, and "Tumble" them.
The one thing that I am confident about is that the COLOR usually confirms "Fertility". Were you to show me those eggs, I would say they were fertile (if they are a few days old). Infertile eggs go pale, and then start to disintegrate or go Fuzzy.
A tumbler can be made from a drink bottle and a small "Power Filter".
See the photo that I will post in a few moments.
