old ug filter uptake tube with 6 rows of 6 holes each drilled in the bottom , bottom of tube siliconed to a clay pot saucer , air stone and tubing slid down uptake tube , then diffuser snaped in place . all hooked to air pump . see how it works . pardon the blue sponge .... couldn't find any open cell foam that was black or gray , so i went with car washing sponges ..... $1.45 each . was either blue or a god awful orange or green

Nice Harvick. Green might not have been so bad, might have blended in with the plant you have in front of it. **Congrats Travis! Always exciting. Doubt that you need it, but little tip... DO NOT tell your wife that she needs hormone doc. You may wind up in traction!!

no i looked at any treatments and there were none . and they were cheap ! and are turning brown with trapped particles . so they must be working !!!!!

good one :) the diff between mine and the one justin made is i use spare course tank gravel with floss on top and holes in the lid for water intake.

juan i just went to wal mart and found a open cell foam sponge in auto dept , easy way to tell if open cell is hold it to your mouth and try breathing through it , if you can you have a sponge you can use . heres a link that shows materials . i modified these plans to what i had around . http://www.petfish.net/articles/Do-It-Yourself/sponge_filter.php

and one sponge can make 2 filters ... cuts price down , and if you want to use slate instead of clay pot saucer that would work too . lots of different variations to them .
