that's an advantage of non aggressive cichlids, you can have swordtails and other peaceful fish swimming around

they spawns every month or so...i had plenty of babys...some living in the same tank....no, its sand on the rock

no, you cant...the sand will clogged the filter...i use normal canister filter or "hand on the back" filter with the intake quite high in the tank
