give them a little time and if it continues put a divider or u might want to start setting up a new tank

question? did you turn off your light for 24 hours and rearrange you tank a little? if i bring a new fish into an old environment i always buy a new plant or a new rock. judging from the looks of your tank you need some hiding areas. yout new oscar is quite beautiful.

michael: how big is your tank?
THE chuck » posted 2007/10/17 - 22:10
it may never work...adult oscars dont really tolerate each other (especially males)unless they grew together or if they are housed in a HUGE tank...adding a second oscar in a tank when there is already one establish is very difficult

They are both females I jason advise and put a whole bunch of plants in their the tank is sixty gallon but going to buy another 60 gallon to have one of those oscars in??
THE chuck » posted 2007/10/17 - 22:21
how can U be sure they are females, oscars are maybe the hardier cichlid to sex!!!
THE chuck » posted 2007/10/17 - 22:22
60 gals for 2 full grown oscars??? def too small.... minimum 50 gal for 1

btw looks like your albino has a bad hole-in-the-head case(to the lateral line)...you should isolate and treat
michael diaz » posted 2007/10/17 - 22:29
Chuck how can you tell it has hole in the head????If you mean the part of missing scales her and the other Oscar haave been fighting and I know the albino is a female because she laid eggs when she was by herself
THE chuck » posted 2007/10/17 - 22:34
good, so youre sure its a female then...h-i-t-h can attack the lateral line of cichlids as well as pores on the head... yes, i see the scars from fighting but i also see that the lateral line is attacked(dont take it personnal, its very common on big oscars)it does not look too bad, but i would keep an eye on that

Micheal, I had 2 from about 2 inches last week had to be separated, one became dominate and took the whole tank. This is common with oscars. he beat him up good just about healed in hospital tank, giving him to a friend with empty 55/ I will still go look after him when better.
