been wantin a lappy for like ever and never could justify it , well I did today.. was gonna buy sumthin used but found this deal for $599 . It had features I wanted at a great price.. 15.4' screen, 3 gigs of ram(expandable to 4 ), AMDturion 64x2 processor,160 gig hd,radeon graphics card, memorystick card reader :). I didn't want vista .. but we'll see how it goes ... so far lotsa bells and whistles and cutesy stuff...

good choice scott for the money...I have a Dell XPS 1210-a little bit older (year or so), but does great. I wish I had waited, but it still works great and have similiar features. Looks alot like mine...only thing is typing-mes u will miss letters or type too many! lol

oh , almost forgot.... Its silver and blue ( Dallas Cowboys baby ) that was the deciding factor , besides only 1 left in stock at my local best buy at this price...

Scott-u have enough RAM to run Vista, but honestly, XP is much better....if u want Vista, you will probably have to upgrade your graphics card which can be costly. I decided to run Vista on mine, but I manage the graphics/program properties as if it is XP, not using up as much memory or things I really don't need...go XP! lol

its a damned monopoly i say .. every crappin lappy had vista on it .. so far this low end radeon card seems to be ok .. I'm keepin my eye on the graphics/vista.. gonna go read up on this graphix crd

Roger hates how much Vista takes from the ram in his. Complains a lot about so much security. I just listen know nothing about this stuff.

We run vista and honestly i haven't found it to be any more of a pain then the other windows programs

Vista is the worst windows ever made and XP comes in at a very close second its bad wen a company doesnt fix all its bugs in one system but then makes a complete new one?>
