A bit hard to tell but at this point I'd guess male because of the lack of lower gill markings. JD's grow fast so you'll know soon.

?? i know the angle isnt too good but i can see some green shine under the green row of dots under the eye...but if you say male, must be then, you are the octo king!not me

I would say male too. To much spangle at that age. Up top too.

Too many spangles for this very young JD, also male sometimes have plenty blue on it's face as well.
And def read the link I sent you, so much brand new info on Archocentrus and Roberstoni species, and thats where you da king brother! lol
