Chuck, a friend just called me and gave me 2 rainbow cichlids. They are 3 ytrs old. Are they good fish and best conditions.

cool roger, post some pics!!!they are very strong fish(as long as you know how to keep fish!)they can endure some beginners mistakes quite good!!!best kept in pairs(otherwise color is a dull tan-brown) non to moderatly agressive...i would keep them with peacefull american cichlids of moderate size( for example: severum is ok)digs only when breeding and may nipple on plants( they are mainly vegetarians)very easy to breed, maybe easier than convicts!!!...just keep them like the average american, with non-agressive tankmates
