that is going to be my next project to put sand in but i want to sort out the malawi tank first there are somethings i want to do to there tank first.

Don't get me wrong I like that and the color. It would go along with the biotope theme. Your Geos and Fronts would like it anyway.

nice and mixing the substrate isnt bad , if it's planted the sand gives roots easier root spreading but the gravel protects them somewhat from being totally uprooted , my geos dig all around my plants but they dont get the gravel to move ....yet ! love the wood though fourd good find !
