Is this a death tank?? LOL Hey bip what is the benefit of getting a wild caught?

If it's truely a wild caught (and I'm not sure how to tell the dif, if there is any way) The two benefits I can think of would be knowing that you don't have a hybrid/cross breed and for breeding purposes. Keeping that fish line true to itself and not cross breeding. I believe I have heard some people on here say colors could be more intense, and some have said less intense. Someone else help out if I am wrong please.

Bip, colors on Wild are fish are a bit less intense for the most part compared to first generation fish, which don't have to hunt for foods, and don't have Wild characteristics, which include torn fins, attitude problems, and a much much better diet readily available. As you had said, wild suit basically 2 purposes in tanks, 1 is for Breeding, and 2 is for breeding. For anyone into showfish the F1 class is the best, they are less susceptible to parasite, and are conditioned alot better as they are not constantly fighting both for foods, or habitat, they also get a etter conditioned diet which is usually specified to highlight certain characteristics in there fish, IE Spirulina, Krill, brine, they all make certain things more noticable in these creatures. So unless someone is looking to become a large breeder, its a waste of money to have wild fish for keep sake stock. Though some do prefer to waste their money to say they have "Wild" fish, its essentially a waste of time as most who do this, don't breed much. Hope this helps.

Out of curiousity, quality-wise, would an F1 be a potentially better show fish than an F2 bred from unrelated F1's?
