it's not a cross. she was just added to the tank and my little silver saum was showing her who's the boss. so it's just a little stress. once she gets a little more astablished in the tank i'll get another pic.

yea its prolly stress i had a green texas shipped over and im in cali and he was a lil stressed when he came over he did the similar to this hide in the plant a little to stay away from the boss of the tank jus to warn him that he owned it..haha but yea give her a couple days.. to find her spot and shell be fine..

She's definitely not a cross but a true Green Texas Cichlid. I think some of you are thrown by the inclusion of the name Texas Cichlid. This is a different species altogether but in some ways are very similar. She looks normal; just a little weary of her surroundings. I'd get one myself but I'm slowing down on the aggressive species of cichlids after losing my prized Polleni Male to his smaller sibling. I'm still not over that loss yet. I'd have thought if any of my cichlids would have done them in it would have been either the Managuensis or the Green Terror. Not his own brother. Jeeze.

ive never seen a stressed carpintis with that pattern, and believe me, ive seen a lot of fish....but its possible "true" green tex...just really looks weird to me...and ive seen crosses tex( carpintis not cyano.) and convict lookind EXACTLY the same...

Kind of does have a convict face.

byron, how can you be sure its a true green tex???

once again. IT'S NOT A CROSS. she is just stressed from being in a new environment. i don't know what tex/con crossed you've seen, but all the ones i've seen were alot paler and nearly void of blue spots. the ones that did have any had alot smaller and fewer spots.
