my little one waiting on hi new home. i am new to cichlids an just loved this little guy/girl? i just added a smaller one to the tank and this one started acting strange, stripes got dark and started following it aroung sort of swimming on its side? any one know why?

that looks like a red jewel. the cichlid swimming on it's side was probably shaking at this one. african cichlids typically do this as a sign of dominance or as a display to show it wants to spawn.

it's a young male terror. still just a baby though. you can see the color coming out on the fins. a female would have little or no fin color at this size. looks as though he's only about 2in. he looks like he'll grow to be a nice one.

yes joshua it is about 2 inches the new one about 1 1/2. but thanks for letting me know its a male

rico this 1 was on its side prob to dominate cause now its chasing the other 1 doesnt even bother my 1/2 inch convicts
