Tina, looking bad, but may be try to put him in a separate tank with good aeration and 20% of fresh water.
That’s the best you can do, since we do not know what happen to him.
Sorry girl
Tina .. » posted 2008/04/15 - 18:36
ya I was looking at that to, but no one really picked on him
Nathan Sederholm » posted 2008/04/15 - 19:15
He might have been like this for a bit and then get picked on. Y, you can try what Alex said.

Sorry Tina, it's hard losing any fish but having to watch helplessly is not fun.
Tony Idone » posted 2008/04/15 - 19:53
Sorry Tina that sucks. Some EBJD are eradiated to bring out the color and promote growth. What this does is prematurely age them. Sad

WE are sorry for your loss
Nathan Sederholm » posted 2008/04/15 - 20:34
Ya, I've heard that too Tony. The big older ones are from the era of super rarity and are not messed with. Better shape, healthy. You gotta wonder how they got so many all the sudden?....
Try a regular JD Tina. You wont be dissapointed and are super hardy fish. I like mine just as much honestly. Those small EBJD are just to iffy. They are doing something to them to make them weak that is for sure.

im so sorry tina. i actually have 2 ebjd a breeding pair of electric blue ahli and a batch of the yellow labs with unbelevable genetics comming wed.

with the blue dempsey we as breeders have really let you down. this is one of the mose inbred fish i can think of. there easy to breed but hard to keep alive. i have been working with a few duys from allthingsdempsey.com to fix this problem. I really sorry but this is the case with theese fragile fish but theres hope. we have been breeding better genetics into this fish from wild cought specamins to hardy up theese fish but this will take a few years and untill then i hope everyone holds off on judging this fish and just say it a bad line with to many problems to sell right now.

i won't sell them but i am breeding them to one day offer a hardy blue dempsey.

once again im really sorry. i wasnt gonna say anything but i have been through this as well and i just wanted you to wait a few years then buy and try again it will get better.
