yeah man...i ve been feeding myself on those kind of pics in the last months...trying to figure what kind of habitat they need..but that`s almost impossible to recreate in home tank...i cannot imagine keeping fish, now in something different than a biotope tank

LoL Nathan, that's the ultimate biotope...that's a shot of them in the wild. I wonder how hard it would be to recreate something like that in an aquarium setting.

Bonjour M. Chuck comment êtes-vous et faites vous le poisson?
Shawn Williams » posted 2008/03/08 - 00:18
You would need some of that fancy aquarium soil they use for planted tanks, but I think it could be done with a little work and patience.

Shawn that thing for the plants its dirt and most of it if not all is just rocks. when i wash it bro that bucket was just think as if you were making a bucket full of chocolate milk.

as for the dirt i wouldn't mind putting up with the dirty tank for a month until it settle i wonder if i can bring some from Colombian river?

Yeah Chuck, thanks for posting, thats allot different from what I have seen when dive at Cenote Eden Garden and Escandino.
Not as much dirt there, more of huge/large rocks, stones and clustered sandy areas.
And of course huge amount of falling tree branches, mangrs, etc. I am sure if spend more time there, you can find places similar to the one pictured here.
It's logical. I would stay away of adding dirt to my tanks, lol.
Look back at my Mexico trip pictures, you'll see what I mean.
