Alright, good point.. BUT that other one is a male, not only did I sex him by the orange band on the tail and the top pointed longer fin, NOT visable here, the body is thicker.. I concid that this female does have a lot of orange band in her tail region AND that is rare for a female to have.. Also the body is more torpedo shaped which gives her away mostly.. Males dont have this body shape at this size.. NOT all females are like yours..
sorry dee. i know it's a female. like i said, my bet stands with anyone here. look at it's fins. the lack of marbling and color all together. not only that. look at the color of the over all fish its self. extremely drab. that alone on top of the facail markings is a clear indicator. i want you to look at any examples of male and female gts you can find and look for these signs.
I completeley get what you are saying Joshua, but if i took everything that you said as gospel then i would believe my own to be male. check out the picture yourself. Mine is most definetely female and by no means Drab.
that is one of the points i'm trying to make. if yours is more colorful then his and yours is a female, what does that tell you? males are twice as colorful then females. also like i said just look at the facial markings. males dont have the solid blue bottoms like that. that is a female trait
I refuse to debate this any further. that is not to say that you are right or that I am. Pureley not agreeing on something. Anyway completely off the subject of GTs, What are your thoughts on Frontosas and how much would you expect to pay for a colony of six adults. 1 dominant, i sub and four females with a proven history. Largest male being around 8 inches
around here a single adult can be rather expensive. a six incher can run over $85. so for a whole colony i couldn't say for sure. i was thinking of getting another front myself. mine is apparently a female and i want to get a male. she has a mouth full of eggs and no one to fertilze them.
cool picture Keith...
