i think its a male, it has all the features, the wider orange band around his back fins, the little hump, the body has a lot of color to it as well.

I am sure your right makes sense i was relying on the short dorsil . I am in UK and have never seen any green males like i see on here they are all grey

his dorsal isnt short, its nice fish.

The reason that i think his colors are staying dark, is due to the fact that hes stressed, and it being attacked.

i shall return him tomorrow to lfs its a shame as grown them from tiny. Its hard to sex fish where i am as they are all 1" long in shop and you have to gamble , not many full grown cichlids available

I think that nuchal hump is a dead giveaway that its a male.

i guess i was hoping blindly to have a pair . When i have seen other male GTS they always seem to really be shinny and green i think an UK they are more this colour
