Pseudotropheus greshakei
ermmmm went to lfs today and decided to get blue another female to take his mind off things...(big mistake i think) he's now got alot paler and ripped chunks out of the new fish strait away.(new fish now in breeding net till i get some advice for return to lfs if needed) could this be because the new fish is a male really. all he ever does is chase the original female around too. and has bit chunks off here at times. i'll put a pick up of new fish aswell tell me what you think please.

Like I have always said, the greshakei are a beautiful fish, but mean as hell!

Lol, my greshakei isn't mean. How many females do you have Philip? You need at least 3-4 females for one male. When he turns white like that, he's kicked into breeding mode. She may be ready to lay, and a combination of having a new babe and having a new egg carrying babe may cause a little more aggression in him. Without having a photo of the new fish, I couldn't tell you whether you got a male or female. I sugges getting 2 more females. Also, if your tank isn't large enough for these then that could be another issue. What size tank are they in?

i find it is best to add more than one fish at a time, smaller fish so it isnt a threat to the other fish ,at night so its darker, or lights out and feed them .. anything to distract the others.. hope this helps..

My female gets real light at times, shakes and alll kinds of things ... She was pretty good with the other fish till recently, then she started beating up on the yellow lab .. He was putting up the good fight and didn't have any chunks out of him, but she was working on it.. Started getting the yellow in the corner and giving him body shots... She is in a tank with a demasoni/longates ? .. Not sure whaat model.. She gets along with him real good and he is much smaller and a relatively new addition to the tank.......

Anyway thats why she is named the beast.. She is , lol.....
