this fish keeps changing colour. one day she is yellow and black, the next day she looks like this. can anyone tell me why?

Common occurence. Probably young male in transformation or could also be a sub-dominant if you have another bully in your tank.

Amber, I think Elijah is right. It is not uncommon for them to change with moods or dominance. If it is turning black it is a he not a she. I don't think female ever change from yellow.
