lol there is a crap load in this tank, almost 60 of them averaging 20 days old.
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 01:21
I am just curious,,how are your fish having babies already,,,,I thought it was posted you lost them...looking back that was 13-15 days ago when your storm hit and you lost power.....from what I have read on this site, cichlids keep them in thier mouths for 3 weeks and sometimes more...How are you getting your fish to do this? I need the secret,,,the only fries i can get that quick are fast food. my fish don't produce squat.
lee howe » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:21
soon I'll have more!!!! Ha!Ha!Ha!
lee howe » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:23
my female only held her batch for 12 days, less if you strip them and use a egg tumbler...
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:35
I bought back some of the adult group, 2 were holding, and the third still is
Jose Flores » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:40
Sounds Fishy! LOL
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:45
hmmmm. sounds awfully convenient...looking over other stuff, not a whole lot of it makes sense to me...and to think I offered to help out from the get go and send some fish,,,,reserving the right to withdrawl that offer...to much BS in the story for me
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:46
nah, a friend bought half the original group, I bought some of them back, he had 2 holding, gave em to me..lol 1 bred while in my tanks..lol gotta love good water.

Sandy, Fish will hold them for up to 28 days, for Mbuna, I strip the females after 12-14 days.
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:47
I dont believe I knew of your offer to send fish. Those which I have are not donations, but bought and paid for. But I appreciate the prior thought, though i didn't know, thanks anyways.
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:49
and sandy, its quite convenient for someone who knows me personally to have gotten fish from my stocks, also has been great towards getting my lines back, well a few of them anyways, the rest are going to be hit and miss until I find them.
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:50
however as I said before, thanks anyways, but I buy my fish, I don't need donations, but appreciate the thought.
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:53
then you should have the post taken off of the site where it was posted by lee and meagan that people should send fish and help you out by sending fish to you.......big scam.
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:55
lol thats not my post, I also said the same thing on that one as well.
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:57
what is a big scam Sandy? Lee trying to help? he just being a decent guy, most likely would have offered the same for most of you guys as well. But I declined then too. I am not just after fish, I seek the bloodline. For that, it costs me dearly, but well worth it for breeding them
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 02:58
been looking at some pics of yours lately too....seems there are some of the same fish you "lost" that have been posted lately...now, I wear glasses, but I do have a good buddy in fla that is into photography that would glady compare them with just a phone call....I would hate to see this site get in any trouble by letting you run a scam
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:02
lol sandy. I would absolutely love to have those all back. However all I can do at this point is go back to the breeders and importers to hopefully find them again, as I said before not just the species, but the bloodline. Would give just about anyting to get them all back, but that just not going to happen. It took far took long to get them the first time, and having to start all over again is looking at the (next To) impossible, but thankfully there are quite a few people in NW to NE illinois who have bought from me, so for a couple species, I can get that species back if they have some available
lee howe » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:03
no sandy it was not a big scam i live in indiana not next door to him so why woould i create a" scam for him i have only got fish from him one time. I found out about what happened and thought their would be people who would want to help someone out that got a bad deal dealt to them.So sorry if you where inconvienced by my post to help a fellow hobbyist out.In the future I guess if you don't like my post then don't read them as you hav ethe choice of not viewing my pictures..
also Sandy he had no clue I had done that!! When I told Him he said no I'll pay for them... He wouldn't even take fish from me... Sorry again if all that upset you....
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:05
Why are you bringing lee into it? the post was made reference to and nothing about them.
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:06
Lee, relax bud, she has formed her opinion of me, let it go, It doesn't bother me... just looking forward to getting this Cyclone up and running tonight. Have the bearing greased up and waiting for reassembly. Should be more then efficient enough to run everything when its all gong again. Capable of 1.4cfm, just have to build a bigger diaphram for it
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:08
lee, I think the guy is full of s**t. has nothing to do with you. Your post didn't upset me in the least i was the FIRST to offer....it's his BS that I am tired of
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:08
I brought no one Sandy. He types all by himself, and makes his own choices, decisions. However he posted originally, and I declined, you brought his name into this, he spoke up for HIMSELF, so relax..lol and enjoy your fish
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:10
anyone with an ounce of sense that followed the whole thing, before things were deleted can figure out it is a load of crap! This is a great site, just a shame this obvious BS is allowed to continue
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:11
its a shame that a certain someone has brought you all into this when it had and still has nothing to do with anyone of you. so again, relax, and go back to enjoying your fish.
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:11
yeah you do the same.....the ones you always had and still do
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:15
lol sandy, I am glad you feel that way, however honorable charity only goes so far. I didn't accept anything from you, or from anyone. Nor would the website have known had it not been brought up. I believe you shouldn't be so quick to judge those around you, because some are the ones who will end up getting you into trouble. so again, Sandy, back to affairs of your concern, and enjoy your fish tanks. After all, isn't that why everyone congregates here to begin with?
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:16
grace my doorstep, and lend a hand working on tanks then Sandy, then you may not be so quick to place your foot into your mouth.
lee howe » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:20
wasn't trying to be rude sandy have no problem w/you or yours but you said my post was a scam so yes i took offense to that, sounded like you were saying i was running a scam !
sandy dennison » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:20
don't preach to me,spend your time covering you butt, if I am going to get into trouble i do it on my own, peers dont influence me in such ways that is for the young who think they know it all,,,and my charity only goes to people who need it and dont bs for it...no worries, you won't be graced by me being on your doorstep....
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:21
Lee, let it go bud, for is none the wiser, and the only for her or anyone to actually know without being told what to think, is to come and visit my 3/4 empty fish room and be able to enjoy barren tanks which still need a full cleaning and filling
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:22
*only way*
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:23

lee howe » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:25
ok gonna come in february when in the area for wifes' sisters baby shower and we will help clean your tanks and get some set back up
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:26
I know I won't, and thats simply because you choose to be judgmental towards me, without knowing anything about me. Its alright Sandy, no one is perfect, someday maybe you will make the trip out ( its a beautiful site when its all up and running), and maybe then you can apologize, but I won't count on it, but you do owe Lee and Meagan both an apology for accusing them of things.
Cichlid Storm » posted 2008/01/13 - 03:27
your welcome to, both of you guys, after all, I didn't start this hobby for just me, its for any and everyone to enjoy
