Is this a fossil coral? or is it a rock? and will it raise my PH?

not sure gareth .. but it is a nice rock anyway,coral sand or crushed coral is a great way to it....

In sufficient quantity, it'll help buffer (hold steady) your PH. All the fish in your pics need a nuetral 6-7 PH...adding a few of these rocks will not, on their own, cause your PH to be too high.

looks nice, i would say if you are worried take a bowl let it sit in the bowl for a day and then check the PH of the water in the bowl. I think this should help you get a better idea. This is what i would do at least before putting something that i am unsure of into my tank.
