plus i think we have heard mr.cichlids story about how they live 50-150 feet of water in the wild, and the average tank is not even that deep. Also the water care is really hard.and they get up hundreds of dollars.i would rather buy a fish famr raised then wild caught cuz they look like same and you save BUNCHES of money

I'll fill you guys in one something, I received an email about a year ago, from Suart at Stuart Grant Export, now this is where you need to read carfully as this will clarify any thing anyone says about the Tanzanian Zaire Blue Frontosa's, including the Samazi,Moba,Bismark,Burundi,Ikola and Tanzanian Deep, THESE FISH ARE ILLEGAL TO CATCH IN THIS LOCATION, THERE FOR THEY ARE IMPORTED FROM MALAWI BASED FARMS WHERE THEY ARE BRED SUCESSFULLY AND UNDER STRICT POLICY TO KEEP THEM AS PURE AS POSSIBLE. this means one thing folks, since 2004, NO ONE has received WILD frontosa of these variety, they are farmed fish. below is a copy of an email I got last night from Grant:

Dear Mr Quinn,
Thanks for your note... We can no longer export Tanzania portion of Lake
Malawi fishes - these are maybe available in Germany, mainly...but are farm bred variety. This hasn't been possible since 2004,June 18. We
have many other species we can export however.
Have a look at our website as and when you can...best regards

Stuart Grant

Dear Mr Quinn,
Thanks for your note... We can no longer export Tanzania portion of Lake

For other Malawi species, have a look at our website as and when you can...best regards

All fronts are Zaire/ Tanzanian Variety. You don't have wild frontosa, you have african farmed frontosa. Still imported, but not WC
Cichlid Storm » posted 2007/09/03 06:43 pm
*the frontosa listed in the email even*
Cichlid Storm » posted 2007/09/03 06:46 pm
So by the sounds of it, unless we are getting Kitumba, Kavalla, or Chaitiki frontosa, they are farm bred.
