It is nearly impossible to tell,put a few together and wait for them to pair off is the only way to be certain.One thing i have noticed though is that the females have a green tinge to the facial area but i wouldn't put money on it being a sure fire way to tell.
awsome, my lfs got some in today, they are at the 4-5" mark, and are almost completly in their adult color form, i really want one but i am afraid that my green terror and nic will be to much for him to handle, i was curious if they are like a severums aggro level or if they arent aggro at all, do you think a 5" one could take care of himself, with they fish i have. i would love your opinion.
mine are in with a variety of fish and no one bothers them though the more aggressive fish are smaller at this point. the uaru are ~6' and they are with severums close to that, two dempseys (larger one is 4-5") and polleni also 5". so far there is no dominant fish and soon we will be separating some of these fish....
