Thanks Tony, how's it going?

Is he subdominant, stressed, or just young yet? They keep getting better and better. He's bound to become your favorite fish.

http://cichlidforum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1279 they are a lighter colored beautiful fish check them out here

Still fairly young yet. He's slowly gaining colour. He's in the most peaceful tank I've got. So I don't think stress is an issue.

I have a community of them. But my male is a rainbow of colors. His face is blue. My subs just don't dare color up.

I'd love to see some pics.

Not sure about the blue either Mo, but I have never seen an adult one before. On that Link it looks like a greenish blue on the face.

yours has some nice reds in it, the pics that i have are from the lake and none of them were very colorful, you two have some nice ones

Read the info on Tony's Link. There is some speculation that the Intermedius available in the fish trade may have some accidental hybridization.
mo beats » posted 2009/11/08 01:55 am
that explains elongated egg spots
Angel Foster » posted 2009/11/08 01:55 am
I've read before that there are two. The true with the longer nose and the one that they weren't sure if it should have been given a different name and they put an sp in it. It has a shorter snout and I can't remember what else different. It could be too that we have two different variants. And fish from different parts of lakes look slightly different. Wish we knew some expert to look into it for us.

Maybe I have it backward and the shorter snout is the pure tram. I'll have to read the link. Maybe its the same one I've seen.

There was something about the side spots too and mine are different than yours on the sub. It's gotta be it!
