BLooP BLooP » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:25
its great to drain and fill,,, when i had it my sink couldnt keep up w/ the rat i was draining/ cleaning...
Travis Ethridge » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:28
Bloop, I ordered from Foster and Smith. I could of possibly found it cheaper somewhere else but I always order more supply or what not and they are the cheapest I can find everything else. Great service and fast shipping at a great price, no sales tax so basically shipping would be your county/city's standard tax.
Roger Hopper » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:28
Cool Travis I have 3 of them, still getting used to the idea of adding water. I am using it some now. I have 15 tanks running and still mostly fill with buckets.
Roger Hopper » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:31
Walmart has them..
Travis Ethridge » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:34
I ordered $160.00 dollars worth of stuff, my shipping was 14.99. With my City Sales Tax, I would have paid 22 dollars...
Travis Ethridge » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:37
Roger, most of what is said to do is a sales pitch... horses$^& man, if you only do your 20% waterchange weekly/biweekly, you will be fine:)
Roger Hopper » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:38
Cheaper than walley world. 35.00
Roger Hopper » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:40
Thanks buddy, I am getting braver as I keep adding tanks..lol Setting up more this weekend.
BLooP BLooP » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:44

Travis Ethridge » posted 2008/03/06 - 05:45

bip_ 4u » posted 2008/03/06 - 07:43
Check ebay. I got mine for half the cost, from what I understand. 50ft for just over $50, that included shipping. I'm glad Kyle talked me into getting it. Works like a charm!
Alex Odesit » posted 2008/03/06 - 15:31
BIP, and who talked you to get on on the e-bay?:)
kyle jackson » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:13
cool travis, your work loads about to get cut way down. christie i cant believe you guys dont have one with all those tanks.
Christie & Joe » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:19
I know Kyle.. I can drain 3 of them right into the sink and can fill them all with the hose. It is a lot of work, but my arms are in great shape :) This is going to be our next "fish" purchase.
Christie & Joe » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:22
Roger did I just read you are setting up more tanks???? How many will you have total?
kyle jackson » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:28
christie i only have 2 tanks, and help my nephew with his. would hate to have to go back to the old way. after seeing the pic of yor fish room, get one of theses babies, and spend more time watchn those guys.
Roger Hopper » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:28
Yes, Christie I will have 18 or 19 total when these are up and running. Turning my computer room in a fish room of sorts.. :)
Christie & Joe » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:37
Kyle I may go on my lunch.. Any who use sand in the tanks will this make a mess or do you do the garbage bag thing every time you fill?

Can't wait to see pictures Roger! We are down to 10, 11 if the sick tank counts.. I added it all up and I think it is like 760 gallons :)
kyle jackson » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:44
christie, never used on sand, cant help ya with that one. bip has been using hers in hr tanks, she may be able to tell ya how well it works with hers.
Roger Hopper » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:50

Christie & Joe » posted 2008/03/06 - 16:54

bip_ 4u » posted 2008/03/06 - 21:51
Lol Alex you are very right, I'm sorry, have to give you some credit too. I wouldn't have known where to look if it hadn't have been for you! Thanks!!!!
bip_ 4u » posted 2008/03/06 - 21:58
Christie, When I refil the tank, mine doesn't get all clouded up. If you are worried about that, aim the end of the hose directly over a big rock or piece of deco, or let it run down inside (upper rim) of the glass, it disperses the water pressure going into the tank.
Scott Fisher » posted 2008/03/06 - 22:08
i just got one at walmart .. less than 35 bucks tax included ... albeit its the 25' version... I'm gonna make my own extension for it
Shawn Williams » posted 2008/03/06 - 22:25
I have a 50 footer that I got for $49 and I love it. When I fill, I run the water until I get it about the right temp before I lock it into the fill position. I add enough prime to cover the entire tank volume, which is recommended if using the python to fill. It does a great job vaccuuming the pool filter sand.
