I see yours has the black spots too. not sure how to get them gone.. Meds or if it is a color morph in the scales..

If a Dragon blood is the same as a Tangerine then I have a dark spot on my female as well

Nice color Christian. Some that have the red to orange tint show black spots and even a dusting type of look. I am not sure why.

click on the pic to see them up close, they are all though out the fish's scales.. they are under their slime coat.. NOT sure if this is black spot or not.. seems to be.. copper salts as in copper safe is what it takes to get them gone.. they are a parasite.. LIKE ICK but wont kill them just wil completely cover them over time.. My Red Zebras get these.. I use AquarSol in my tank monthly to keep them off.. I see my Tangerine getting them now. they only really seem to like orange fish for some reason.. some on my Cobalts but not bad..

that dusting Roger is velvet, Copper salts get rid of that too. that can cause the fish to breath heavily as it gets in their gills and covers their heads and then the body.. another one of those micro parasites..

It looks like a wild parasite that the hobby had to put up with until it run it's course in the 70's. It came out of Fla. farms . My understanding is the fish is attacked as fry. Develops during the fishes life & birds or other preds eat the fish & completes the cycle. We tried all types of treatment, usually killing the fish, until we noticed it wasn't harmful. I've kept a Victorian Hap for years that was just about covered in the fins with black spots. No one else in that 125 gal. ever contracted any spots. Also none of his fry had any spots . Pretty fish btw.
