Not meaning to diminish your fish in anyway Aaron, but is it possible this is a sev cross Uaru? I could be totally wrong as i don't know enough about sevs to say either way though.
It could be Keith, as I don't know alot about severums but he looks just like every other green severum I see at my LFS and that is what he was sold to me as. I should ask Alex O. as he would be the one who would know.
Yeah agreed Dobrie would have a better idea, just the eye looks to big but like i said i really don't know enough about them. Either way still a nice fish.
Aaron, this is def a sev, no uaru involved, but how long have you had him? He looks a little under fed, or it could just be the way his fins are laying? try to snap a shot of him with his fins open?
Hi Karrie, I've had him about three years. I think what might be throwing people off is that his body is at an angle in this picture and it's hard to tell that his head is closer to the camera then his body is. I think it's making his head / body look disproportionate.
Guys, pure Heros, no Uaru involve.
Karrie is right, he is on the skinny side. How big is he Aaron, and what the tank size. Does he have a good appetite? In my experience if fish being kept in small tank, being underfed, or bullied may slowdown in it development and then even if moved in the large tank, with perfect maintains, still never be like it should. Unproportional large eye usually the sign of it.
But like you said Aaron, it may be just a picture.
def a sev but i think he is skinny.
it looks like he has a slight inward
hump on his stomach. my sevs are about 1 yr old and one of them is huge compared to the other but they're both very round bodied. but it can be the pic. you should post another.
After looking closely at the sevs at my LFS I think you are all correct. I was only feeding him flake for quite a while. He was in a 55 for the last few years but has recently been moved to a 125. He has a good appetite and I'm feeding him more. Also I now am feeding him: flake, pellets, brine shrimp, cucumber and would like to get some spinich and lettuce in his diet as well. I have this site and the people on it to thank for helping me give my fish a better life. Thanks guys!
Did you find that piece or buy it? I bet he likes it, nice dark place to hi
