:( I finally found a male dovii, 5 inches if that only took 10 minutes after being introduced into my Jardini's tank before the dovii destroyed him...I was so bummed

Sorry for your loss.......Jardinis and arrowanas get huge - but are very nervous fish usually (usually mix well with other peaceful big fish....Koi, gourami, distichodus, prochilus etc..)
Are you going to buy another one - or just stick with the aggressive fish now?

well my experience with silver arrowanas is that yes they are peaceful, but with jardinis they can be very aggressive, and I've seen them mixed with dovii before, but I guess in this case they didn't mix well, I've been trying to find a male dovii for over a year and I finally found one, so I'm definitely going to stick with him, although I would love to have another jardini but it just isn't going to work out...

unlucky mate sad to hear , my red tail gold is really aggressive and gives my peacock bass a hard time its a shame ,i've seen jardinis giving doviis a pasting on youtube ,but your dovii obviously is top dog ,have you still got your gar ?

I've seen those same videos on youtube, which is why I thought they would be okay together especially since the jardini was twice the doviis size, but the gar I don't have it anymore, a while ago the red devil I had ripped it's jaw off it was kinda crazy...

Yeah sorry to hear that, I used to have an Arowanna he was like 35 inches and then one day decide to jump out of the tank and killed himself by being dried up from not being in water! Such an awesome fish though!!
