QUESTION: Holding
QUESTION: Holding
I have about three female peacocks holding..I caught one of them and have her in a 10gl; can I put another holding female in there as well or will they fight? Thanks.

place a divider in there and go for it, yes they will harass one another and cause one or the other to spit the fry

Place two dividers in there and keep them seperate if you can

how can you tell she is holding. Is it the color of her belly.

thanks wayne/jerry...I figured a divider, but wasn't sure. I have another 5gl and 10gl..I may setup the other 10gl w/divider and put some of the water from main tank in there...darcie, you will notice a bulge under her chin and I can also see the eggs in her mouth-I have three that are holding right now.

darcie..the pic above is not holding, just for an example of the peacock females...their belly's don't turn color either, just a few fish that I know of do that when they are ready to breed (Cons/Rams)...
