Vince very nice, but I think this may be a Protomelas Taeniolatus,AKA red empress, the Similis has a much bluer green coloring.

well Roger they may have changed the scientific names but I bought my first trio of Haplochromis Similis from Tom & Neven Bailey in 1976.

hey Roger I've been to 30 or more sites & some picture P.Similis as a solid blue fish others as the green that you spoke of & a few had it listed as red emp . Malawian Mayhem listed it as P. Taeniolatus .I stand corrected ,thank you.
