Yeh, but i dont know here the black strips come from. The female seem to be exactly like him only light brown

How do you know the female is the same species?

Good question.. right now its an assumtion & i came to that conclusion considering that the femaile has the same strips, snout etc.

The females are a dull brown with stripes. Yours is stressed so his coloring is off some.. This is as best as I can find, a Pseudotropheus elongatus.. Please see this copy/paste link and do the images under the pic to see different ones.. Hope his helps U..

Thanks, do you think that they develop that longer snout over time? because the one in that link has a rounder mouth!!

This is a guess on his genes as the pic is not a good one of his face. This may not be the Elongatus but a different speices of Zebras.. NO the face does not change once at adult.. But U can go through the files at that link and maybe find him.. Did U get him at a LFS or a friends tank?? IF a hybrid, he would have more odd shapes then just the mouth area. could also be a deformed one from the spawn.. I have seen this in my kenyi sometimes.. hard to tell with out knowing where they came from.. IF I have time later I wil do a different search..

Hi all..just woke up. When I posted mine last week, I called it Elongatus...others suggested socolofi. I still lean toward "Elongatus ornatus". Put that into google and goto images

Harv..I'm not refering to "Sp. bob"...I'll pop them to the front of the line now..

his mouth resembles more on a Tropheops species than a Pseudotropheus, but his coloring is hard to match to one.. Good luck finding him..

Very pretty severum, but what happened to his fins? Maybe stress.
