she has got a horible fungal infection.. i have had three fish get this after a beating .. and all have recovered .. primafix should help greatly .. i have also used melafix if i was out of primafix.. two the tails regrew perfect one regrew very weird..

actually i think fungal and bacterial .. all three of mine lost there tail completely.. are you treating her..

it might be too late. you should have treated when first occured. your local fish store petco petsmart? unless you don't have any around??

Dave - I'm sure you've been to the pet store by now - hope is not too late for her. Should always keep a fish pharmacy handy so you don't have to waste time and the fish suffer! I learned the hard way myself - now I'm stocked with just about everything you can imagine!

Primafix and melafix should both be used. It can be purchase at Petsmart or Petco both.

Aww sorry to see her in this state. You posted the other picture of her on the 8th... you weren't able to find melafix or primafix yet? Do you have a Walmart near you? Any pet store? Where do you live Dave?

Euthanise that poor fish. Boil all your nets and any thing else that has been in contact with that tank or that water. Have Melafix, a hospital tank and seperate nets etc onhand for future emergencies...

looks the the eyes arn't to great either. i'de usually say a bit of salt too. the cichlid salt, saved so many fish that way. from guppies mollies and kribs and heals wounds good. but i don't keep it in i only use for treatment
