very pretty fish> If you bought two that is cool the way they breed you'll have more soon. Also did you know that they will kill anything else in the tank to protect their young?

I always see them paired with fronts; and they're also tanganyken so i'll try it.. They also aren't to big yet about 2.5 inches. I paid $4.98 a piece.. I drove to columbus from dayton (90 miles) to get them.. I was looking for more fronts but couldnt find any :(

Ted do you want to have fronts shipped? You can get them from the man mine came from. 12 for 144.00 at 3 to 4 inches. My friend that I went with has fronts and brichardi's together.

fronts get rather large so they are probably ok w the brichardi, but I read that brichardi pair off as early as 2" and start breeding

Not sure about web site. His do fine and breed in with the fronts.

that is what i just said Roger, lol because the fronts get larger, but one of the lfs I go to has been breeding them for years and they told me that regular cichlids will get killed because the brichardi are community fish and they all protect the young even if not their own, also any juvies that are in the community will also defend and help take care of the fry.

That's actually a N. pulcher not a brichardi. The yellow dots on the body, and the pattern on the face are how you tell the difference. Pulchers are nicer imo anyways (and more expensive) :)

Oh yeah and when these guys pair off and breed they are ruthless. I had a pair once in a ninety with a couple of BIG fronts and some big mean duboisis. These little guys shredded them.
