Love the OB's!
I have a liitle homegrown one that survived the haps, and is now about 2.5" I hope my little guy makes it - the adult OB is king of my 210gal tank....so if he ever sees him as a threat...... :( That might be the end to him!
But so far - so good!
On the OB's how can you tell if it's male or female?
justin laroche » posted 2008/03/13 - 17:11
yeah they seem to be one of the most mellow fish ive ever owned, you can bet theres always at least one in every peacock ill ever own :)

vincent, the females wont be as colorful as the males

Thanks, too young to tell with my little guy yet (yes, guessing guy) My other OB is all male - and nothing mellow about him - he is the undisputed king of the tank. He's starting to mellow out as the haps are getting bigger than him.....but he's still the king! He just chased a 5" Venustus into hiding, and my lithobates only comes out at feeding times, because they are the main targets of his aggression.
I'd be more upset with him, if he wasn't so darn pretty!

so how old do they get till you can tell its a female???
