we have sterazin which is great ...

ok, listen rl, i have dealt with this before, you need to get some tetracyclne or some penecilan, and add some salt, and make sure you treat the full regimen, and also, if you could quarintine him, it will be good, but also treat your other fish, just to be on the safe side, it will take about a week to clear. You can use some jungle buddies parasite guard along with the anti-biotics, i have, and it doesnt hurt a thing.

Use the parasite guard for secondary infections, body sores are caused from a bacteria, but you want to be safe, make sure you do your water changes after each treatment, at least 25%

RL listen to Karrie, she knows more about this than I do, Amazingly never had sick fish much..

Yes kylie, sterazin is good to, but the anit-biotics i would use would be the tetracycline, its for body sores, you could buy the drops, and mix with their food and freeze it, but dont feed them for 24 hrs, until you start the treatment. The drops, they eat them.

thanks karrie.. i havent really had many sick fish .. a few beat up ones or just dead ones that i have no idea what happened.. i read that you need to do a water change before medication due to the ammonia can affect the meds..
karrie edwards » posted 2008/04/01 - 06:14
thats right, and thats why i just said do not feed your fish for 24 hrs. Also, remember that a fish's immune system is what makes them healthy, so if they are feeling stressed, it will reflect, you can have the healthiest fish, and the rest of the tank could be sick, due to stress or what not.
