cichlids.com: Male or female?

Male or female?

I've had the jd for about 7 months. its about 6"-7" and slowed down. i cant tell if its male or female. i always thought male but second guessing myself. please help me identify so i can get a mate lined up.

Looks male but tuff to tell from this angle. We need a shot of the lower half of his gill plate to know for sure.
