He was Guarding fry with female got in scrape and died few days later . Had swollen head any ideas water all good heavily filtered 140 gallon tank not over populated ?

sounds like a gram negative bacterial problem . fish shouldn't be dying of scale loss. here is a site where you can diagnose your problem.http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/

thanks guys think plec as it used to just go mad every few days and attack anything that moved ! but i dont know what could cause head to swell as change at least 40% of water a week and thats in big tank . My mrs loves the mess i make ! lol

your cuban looks mean too ! I have got 1 of his fry that will survive in comunity tank . Dont know how he did not get eaten though ! also got a male of his sisters fry to replace him so hekind of lives on John

Yeah, I still have a few of the fry.Thinking they are going to look Cuban but still to small to tell
