Michelle has vacated the site!! Hey Roger, U had a pic of yours and Esox said the males get a small hump on their heads.. I have my one with the helianthus and so I cant' see a hump yet. maybe mine is a female.. I know some of these helia are males so I need to move my pulcher out soon.. I need to find some more and have just them in a 29 gal.. YES I know to move the others out once U get a pair.. but first I need some others to get a pair.. Great Roger that U have some.. very hard to find here.. Dont' know why, U would think they are plentiful the way they spawn..
She has returned, LOL Ok I have two that have paried up, so by looking at them together in the tank here are the differences I have seen. !. the male's cheecks seem to be with more black coloring to them and the fins have a more pronounced blue arcross the tip. Just more colorful in general....now go look at the other pic which is a female, not as much coloring to the cheek, rounder body, more rounded head. This is how I've been able to tell so far. But only when you have them in there together do you start noticing the changes.
