actually you are both right. It's identified as cichlasoma, parapetenia and parachomis. Anyway, males are more brilliantly striped, are larger and have more of an enlongated anal and dorsal fin.

I hope you don't have trouble down the road with such a size differential. Jags tend to try an eat anything that will fit in their mouths which can open quite widely...believe me on that one...lol.
